I was babysitting this morning. And the 4 year old girl I was hanging out with wanted to dress up in her princess outfit. She put on her sparkly heels, crown, and a fancy fake fur jacket. And she looked at me and said, “when I grow up I want to be Princess Peach”. And I told her that I hope when she grows up she can be Princess Peach.
That moment was so precious. This little 4 year old girl has a dream to be Princess Peach and that’s just the start. One day, maybe 5 years from now, she’ll have another dream. And another dream. And another dream. I love this kid. And I wish with all my heart that she will grow up to be her own Princess Peach. I don’t want her to dream of BEING Princess Peach. I want her to dream of being her OWN princess. Admire Peach and become your own version.

Will she actually become a princess when she grows up? No, probably not. But she can be her own kind of princess. And I wish that as we grow up we keep that child-like thought process. She goes, “oh I like princesses, I’ll just become a princess when I grow up”.
“D, become a princess. If you do anything for anybody in life do it for your 4 year old self who just wanted to become a princess.”
